House Bill No. 1511 takes a look at use of taxes imposed by municipalities and rates of sales. The bill authorizes increases and decreases in the rates of these taxes. In House Bill No. 1511, local government tax codes are amended and listed in great detail. The rate of taxes adopted by this bill must be 1/8th, 1/4th, 3/8ths, or 1/2 of a percent. Citizens will vote on public ballots for increases in taxes. Tax rates may be altered, as long as it is in an increment of 1/8th percent. The bill was first introduced on February 19th of 2013, and will be enacted on September 1st of 2013.
