Texas Conservative Lobbyist News: Woman Found Guilty of Illegal Voting
You may have heard about the recent arrest of a Texas woman by the U.S. Department of Justice. She was found to have voted (illegally, needless to say) five times in the same election. The Obama Administration is currently on the offense in a lawsuit aiming to challenge Texas Voter ID laws. This news all follows after a Supreme Court ruling that Voter ID laws do not suppress votes based on race. Or, at least they ideally should not. If a person does not have a driver’s license, they can easily obtain an ID at the Department of Public Safety. It is important to educate all citizens on the importance of voting, and on the readily available/varying forms of identification. This way the gap in opinions on Voter ID laws can be bridged and there will be less symptoms that are problematic and cause concern that Voter ID laws are a racial/socio-economic issue.
