#1 Senate District 25

Incumbent Republican Jeff Wentworth seeking re-election against well funded opponents Donna Campbell and Elizabeth Ames Jones.

#2 Senate District 9

Republican Senator Chris Harris is retiring. Two well funded Republican opponents vie for his seat: Kelly Hancock and Todd Smith.

#3 Senate District 30

Craig Estes seeks to defend his seat against a very touch opponent in Jim Herblin. Both Republicans are battling tough already.

#4 Senate District 11

With GOP candidate Mike Jackson running for Congress, his vacant seat is being fought for by 3 GOP hopeful candidates: Dave Norman, Larry Taylor, and Daniel McCool.

#5 Senate District 4

Tommy Williams, incumbent GOP senator from the Woodlands has a battle on his hands with former senator Mike Galloway, also a Republican, who has returned to seek office again.

#6 Senate District 3

Incumbent Republican Robert Nichols opposed by East Texas Tea Party leader Tammy Blair.

#7 Senate District 5

Steve Ogden may be the most powerful senator in Texas. He is ending his career, which opens up a seat. Republicans Ben Bius and Charles Schwertner are battling each other for it.

#8 Senate District 31

GOP incumbent Kel Selinger is seeking to be re-elected against gritty opponent Randy Rives. Rives is accusing Selinger of lacking true conservative values.
