House Bill No. 2621 addresses the issues concerning disclaimers of estate property by certain beneficiaries. In the act, a disclaimer of property to be received by a beneficiary must be proven by written documentation. Appropriate forms would be either a notary public, or an authorized person as specified. The disclaimer must also include written documentation stating whether the beneficiary is a child support obligor. This law change applies only to disclaimers filed on or after the effective date of January 1st 2014.
